Ssa Drive
So my half-Sister takes SSI....?
She randomly gets seizure attacks and when she does me and my other sister take care of her and her daughters ( 1 1/2 and a 5 yr old). We drive them everywhere and we help her set up her appointments, pay her bills,shopping, and anything else she needs. I'm sure she would've been able to take more care of herself, but English isn't her first language. She is divorced. So i was wondering ,since we spend about 4-6 hours a day in her house, if we could get paid like its a job, or just a grant or something from the SSA.
@Patrick, so you would drive to your sibling's house everyday, neglect your own children, stay all day and not be able to pay the rent cuz your basically working for your sibling?
no there is no such program. If she needed help bathing, dressing herself etc, Medicaid has programs that would send out a licensed person do help her with that but not the things you are talking about. Sounds like she could qualify for child care and if you set up her bills through her bank automatic bill pay then all you'd have to do is take her shopping once per week.
sounds like she may be taking advantage of you a little if all she has is seizures and doesn't speak english. She can't be going to the doctor every day, how many appts does she have? People do learn how to manage these things on their own.
