Is a SATA hard work in a computer that used a SATA?
My laptop broke and it has a disk Drive WD Scorpio Blue 160 GB SATA HDD. I found a new laptop that uses a SATA Hard Drive. Does this mean I can just buy the new laptop, put my old hard drive in and be good with all my stuff?
Yes and No, the operating system does not work because he's going to find your old computer equipment and components and see your new computer configurations. It is very unlikely to start correctly. If you can find the exact same laptop (brand, model, year of manufacture .. exect sheet) there is a chance that it works, but I would not bet on it. Your data is safe even though the file system Hard Drives. If you have a new operating system installed on the laptop, you can connect the old hard drive (HD via an external box or internal connections if available) and recover your old data out of it. There may be some permissions problems depending on the operating systems used, but it is still there. Good Luck
